Don't just throw away your trash; Recycle it!  Every piece of waste material that you throw away had to be produced by using natural resources.  The more you throw away the more resources of our planet are needed to keep producing that item.

Recycling allows us to reduce the amount of natural resources for manufacturing by reusing your trash.

Recycling is more than just putting certain items in your recycling bin each week.

You can reduce the amount of total waste that you have by choosing items that don't have excessive packaging.  The more packaging a particular product has the more energy and natural resources are needed to produce it.

Excessive Packaging

  1. extra natural resources to produce
  2. extra greenhouse gases to transport
  3. more waste in land fills

You can also reuse as much as possible.  For example using one water bottle for drinking instead of hundreds of plastic bottles can save tons of waste.  If you look around your house you will find lots of daily items that you can reuse instead of throwing away and getting a new one.

What you can recycle

  1. aluminum cans - it takes 92% less energy to produce new aluminum cans from old ones
  2. glass bottles
  3. paper products

Did you know you can recycle home and garden waste  materials?

Garden Compose Helps

  1. fertilize the soil
  2. compose doesn't have to come from peat bogs
  3. doesn't add to land fills

You can compose househould items like leaves fallen from trees, grass from mower, and left over raw vegetables after cooking.
